Parker Answers Spokesman's
Charges
"Labels never win a
debate"
St. Peters, Missouri -
March 24, 2006
An Akin campaign spokesman
quickly called
Representative Parker a
"liberal Republican"
yesterday when questioned by
an AP reporter about
Parker's candidacy. The
spokesman said Todd Akin
[is] "a voice that
Republicans can trust to
advance conservative
principles such as lowering
taxes, standing up for
fiscal responsibility, and]
fighting illegal
immigration." During his
tenure in the legislature,
Representative Parker has
sponsored* and
co-sponsored** legislation
which addresses the same
important issues cited by
the Akin campaign.
"Throwing around labels
never wins a debate and it
doesn't get legislation
passed. During his eighteen
year political career,
Congressman Akin has never
had a a bill passed into
law. This includes six terms
in the Missouri house and
three terms in Congress. We
must and can do better; our
region's future depends on
it."
