State Legislator says "second
district needs new leadership
for the 21st century."
Jefferson City, Missouri -
March 24, 2006
State Representative Sherman
Parker filed his candidacy
papers in Jefferson City for
Congress Friday. Parker, a two
term representative from St.
Peters, is seeking to take his
experience and leadership to
Washington D.C. to affect real
change and to bring much needed
leadership to the citizens of
the second district.
"After careful deliberation
with my family and friends, I
have decided to seek the
Republican nomination for
Congress from the second
district. I have sponsored and
co-sponsored legislation that
addresses the need for economic
growth, strengthening education,
and rebuilding our
transportation infrastructure. I
am running for Congress because
our current member of Congress
is not responsive to these
public policy concerns and lacks
the influence in Congress to
further our goals. I will
provide new ideas and leadership
that is unwavering in the face
of criticism and steadfast when
confronted with adversity."
